Contingency Kickbacks in Ohio

posted by Will Wilson @ 1:15 pm

Tierney’s weblAG would like to know why a recent U.S. Chamber of Commerce event failed to endorse the work of Jim Petro, Ohio’s AG. Well, one of the reasons is that Mr. Petro’s office is rife with insider deals tossed out to favorite friends and campaign contributors. The pension fund suit that weblAG applauds becomes Exhibit A: Mr. Petro’s second largest campaign contributor, Hahn Loeser & Parks, gets tapped by Mr. Petro to reap the billable hours in the pension suit. AG Watch is astounded that Mr. Tierney does not see the clear conflict here.

AG Watch will praise a good AG, provided one can be supplied. Until then, we will be happy to sniff out the improprieties of the bad ones as quickly as weblAG can serve them.
